Singapore: Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, Chief Executive of the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA), engaged in a series of high-profile meetings with senior international officials and global ICT experts during his participation in Asia Tech x Singapore 2026 (ATxSG) to explore collaboration in technology, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence (AI).
According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Qaed held discussions with Dr. He Ruiming, Chief AI Officer at Singapore's Ministry of Digital Development and Information. They focused on AI governance, Singapore's National AI Strategy, and Bahrain's initiatives in developing its own National AI Strategy and roadmap for AI technology adoption. The conversation also highlighted the iGA Innovation Hub's role in creating AI-powered government solutions, and Singapore's progress in developing large language models (LLMs) for Southeast Asia, presenting opportunities for future collaboration.
Furthering discussions on digital infrastructure, Al Qaed met with Karan Bhatia, Vice President and Global Head of Government Affairs and Public Policy at Google. Their talks centered on leveraging advanced technologies to enhance government service development.
In another significant meeting, Al Qaed conversed with Lu Song Ming, Director General of the Science and Technology Department of Sichuan Province in China. They explored potential cooperation in technology, research and development, digital twinning, AI, and other advanced technologies.
Additionally, Al Qaed discussed future technologies with Peter Schwartz, Chief Futures Officer at Salesforce, focusing on digital infrastructure, customer service systems, and Agentic AI.
