Cypriot President Meets KHGC Chairman to Discuss Coexistence and Tolerance Initiatives

Nicosia: His Excellency Nikos Christodoulides, President of the Republic of Cyprus, met with Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Hamad Global Center for Coexistence and Tolerance (KHGC). The meeting took place on the sidelines of the High-Level International Conference on Coexistence and Religious Diversity, organized by KHGC in collaboration with Cyprus.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the President requested Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed to extend his greetings and appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The President expressed his best wishes for the continued progress and prosperity of Bahrain and its people.

Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed reciprocated by conveying the greetings and appreciation of His Majesty the King and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to President Christodoulides. He also shared their best wishes for the continued progress and prosperity of Cyprus and its people.

During the meeting, both parties reviewed the strong ties between Bahrain and Cyprus, discussing ways to further enhance these relations, especially in promoting coexistence and interfaith dialogue. They explored opportunities for exchanging expertise and best practices in this area.

President Christodoulides praised Bahrain for its achievements in fostering openness, tolerance, and coexistence. He highlighted the KHGC's initiatives in promoting peace and dialogue among different faiths and cultures, as well as mutual respect and understanding among peoples.

Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed emphasized the commitment of both nations to further develop their cooperation and partnership. He noted that these efforts serve their shared interests and strengthen their endeavors to promote coexistence, tolerance, and support for security, stability, and peace on both regional and international levels.
