Bahrain and US Forge New AI Opportunities Partnership

Washington: The Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States of America have signed a joint statement on the Artificial Intelligence Opportunities Partnership. This collaborative agreement was formalized during the visit of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor and Royal Guard Commander, to the United States.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the joint statement was signed by Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa, the Ambassador to the US, representing Bahrain, and Jacob Helberg, US Under Secretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy and the Environment, representing the US. The agreement outlines a shared commitment to support innovation, entrepreneurship, and technological cooperation to achieve mutual prosperity and economic security.

The statement highlights the significance of trusted partnerships in developing infrastructure that supports artificial intelligence, including areas such as energy, critical minerals, semiconductors, advanced computing capabilities, and digital connectivity. It establishes a framework for enhancing cooperation on policies that bolster innovation, strengthen AI-related supply chains, and support research and development.

Furthermore, the agreement encourages private-sector investment in emerging technologies and cooperation in fields such as advanced data centers, reliable AI models, semiconductor systems, and the development of innovative AI applications.
