Baku: Bahrain's parliamentary division delegation actively participated in the 27th meeting of the General Committee of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC). This engagement occurred on the sidelines of the 20th session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Member States, which was held in Azerbaijan.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the delegation included MP Abdulwahid Abdulaziz Qarata and Dr. Ali Ahmed Al Haddad. The meeting successfully elected the Vice-Presidents of the PUIC Bureau, approved the agenda, and adopted the report of the Committee's Secretary-General. Additionally, the reports of the Executive Committee were approved.
The meeting also sanctioned the Union's financial reports and documents, including the audited report of the Financial Control Committee for 2025. The proposed budget for the 2026 and 2027 fiscal years was also approved. The gathering further addressed organisational matters, such as updating the draft agenda of the 20th PUIC Conference and the adoption of the report of the 27th session of the General Committee.
