Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting at Gudaibiya Palace. The meeting covered a range of topics, including youth development, international relations, and legislative initiatives.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Cabinet commended the 2030 Youth City initiative, recently visited by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The visit highlighted HM the King's ongoing commitment to engaging with Bahraini youth and acknowledging their pivotal role in the Kingdom's development. The Cabinet also praised the efforts of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa in empowering young people and His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his contributions to the sports sector.
The meeting underscored the importance of discussions between HM the King and His Excellency General Joseph Aoun, President of the Lebanese Republic, aimed at reinforcing Bahrain-Lebanon relations. HRH Prince Salman affirmed that the visit of HE General Joseph Aoun to Bahrain reflects the strong ties between the two nations.
Further, the Cabinet reviewed HM the King's visit to Italy, where discussions with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni focused on enhancing the Bahrain-Italy partnership. The Cabinet noted the significance of these talks in exploring cooperation opportunities across various sectors.
The outcomes of HRH Prince Salman's official visit to the United States were also discussed, highlighting the reinforced strategic partnership between Bahrain and the U.S. The Cabinet emphasized the importance of the USD 17 billion investment package announced during the visit as a testament to the strong bilateral ties.
In observance of the World Day against Trafficking in Persons, the Cabinet directed relevant authorities to continue efforts in combating human trafficking. The Cabinet expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Interior and allied countries for their support in this area.
Humanitarian efforts in Gaza were also a topic of discussion, with the Cabinet expressing gratitude to allied countries for their contributions. The Cabinet reiterated Bahrain's support for the Palestinian cause and the importance of achieving a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
The Cabinet approved several memorandums, including draft laws to advance development initiatives, amendments to customs services, cooperation with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and various memorandums of understanding with international partners.
Finally, the Cabinet reviewed a memorandum on the cooperation between the Executive and Legislative Authorities and noted the planned external visits by Bahraini ministers and visits to Bahrain by foreign ministers in August 2025.
