Manama: Fatima bint Jaafar Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism, affirmed the ministry's commitment to further developing Bahrain's events sector as a key driver of tourism growth, diversifying visitor experiences, and attracting more regional and international events.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister made the remarks during a meeting with representatives of event management companies in Bahrain to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation and coordination in support of the sector's continued growth. She underscored the importance of partnership with the private sector in delivering high-quality events that reinforce Bahrain's position as a preferred destination for major regional and international events. The sector also supports hospitality, retail, transport, logistics, and creative industries.
The meeting reviewed plans to further develop the events sector by building on Bahrain's advanced infrastructure, modern venues, and national expertise in event management. It focused on enhancing coordination among relevant stakeholders and exploring opportunities to attract new regional and international events in line with the Tourism Strategy 2022 - 2026.
Representatives of the event management companies welcomed the ministry's continued engagement with the private sector. They reaffirmed their commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance the competitiveness of Bahrain's events sector regionally and internationally.
