Manama:The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) has been honored with the GCC Digital Government Award in the Best Digital Inclusion Initiative category for its Bu Rashid Family awareness initiative. The accolade was presented at the seventh edition of the awards held in 2026 in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the award was received by Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, the Chief Executive Officer of the NCSC, from General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Minister of Interior. The recognition underscores the significance of innovative digital initiatives in promoting digital inclusion and enhancing cybersecurity awareness across diverse societal groups.
The Bu Rashid Family initiative is the first national awareness model in Bahrain that focuses on a digital family dedicated to cybersecurity education. It was launched by the NCSC under the slogan "Cyber Awareness is a Way of Life" and features digital characters that depict everyday scenarios. These characters deliver tailored awareness messages and practical guidance to various groups, including children, adolescents, older individuals, persons with disabilities, women, and employees. The initiative aims to encourage safe digital practices and enhance individuals' capabilities to protect their privacy and prevent online fraud.
In addition to the Bu Rashid Family, the "Ask Amna" digital assistant extends the initiative by employing artificial intelligence to provide users with easier access to cybersecurity information and guidance. This tool aids users in addressing cyber challenges with improved awareness and responsibility.
The award highlights the NCSC's commitment to developing innovative awareness initiatives that promote digital inclusion and cultivate a culture of safe digital technology use. These initiatives contribute to building a more informed and secure digital society and further the Kingdom of Bahrain's digital transformation efforts.
