Health Minister Inaugurates Expansion of Resuscitation Room at Salmaniya Medical Complex

Manama: Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad Hasan, Minister of Health, inaugurated the expanded resuscitation room at the Accident and Emergency Unit of Salmaniya Medical Complex, in the presence of Dr. Mariam Athbi Al Jalahma, Chief Executive Officer of Government Hospitals, along with a number of officials and medical and administrative personnel. The Minister of Health said the project reflects ongoing efforts to develop the healthcare system and enhance services provided by accident and emergency units, which play a key role in dealing with critical cases.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the expansion will enhance the capacity of the resuscitation room and improve response times to emergency cases. The focus on developing healthcare infrastructure and medical equipment remains a priority to ensure the provision of safe and sustainable healthcare services in accordance with approved standards and best practices.

Dr. Mariam Athbi Al Jalahma stated that the project represents an addition to the services provided by the Accident and Emergency Unit at Salmaniya Medical Complex. It was designed and equipped to meet operational requirements and support the efficiency of medical and nursing staff in responding to critical cases. The project includes a central nursing station, an ambulance triage room, two isolation beds, and modern medical and technical equipment to enhance the quality of care and strengthen preparedness for emergency and critical cases.

The expansion increased the resuscitation room from eight to 15 beds, allowing the unit to receive and treat a larger number of critical cases simultaneously. Two of the beds have been designated as isolation rooms equipped to receive patients requiring special infection control procedures. The project also includes a central nursing station that enables medical and nursing staff to monitor patients directly and efficiently, as well as a dedicated room for receiving and triaging patients arriving by ambulance to assess their conditions and determine the appropriate treatment pathway according to medical priority.
