Manama:Bahrain Real Estate Investment Company (Edamah), a subsidiary of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company, has partnered with Kanoo Real Estate to develop Pier 1890, a new waterfront leisure and commercial destination on Manama Corniche near the Shaikh Hamad Causeway.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the partnership was announced during the fourth Gateway Gulf Investment Forum, which took place on November 1-2, 2026, at the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay. The agreement sets a cooperative framework between the two entities to develop the project, covering approximately 11,000 square meters and including 25 commercial units such as restaurants, cafés, and upscale retail outlets, totaling a leasable area of 3,000 square meters. This collaboration aims to foster further cooperation and investment, aligning with Edamah's strategy to broaden partnerships with the private sector.
Khaled Abdulrahman Al Majed, CEO of Edamah, emphasized the strength of the longstanding partnership with Kanoo Real Estate, noting the collaboration's potential to improve quality of life, bolster Bahrain's real estate ecosystem, and support the Kingdom's economic diversification goals.
Mohsin Abdulnabi Haji, CEO of Kanoo Real Estate, described the partnership as a significant milestone for Bahrain's real estate sector, with Pier 1890 poised to become a major leisure and tourism hub attracting local and international visitors. This development supports Bahrain's urban development goals in line with Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 and enhances Kanoo Real Estate's diverse portfolio.
