Barcelona: The Bahrain Economic Development Board (Bahrain EDB), led by Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development and Chief Executive of Bahrain EDB, has concluded a five-day visit to Spain and Switzerland. The visit aimed at enhancing engagement with investors, business leaders, and industry stakeholders across key European markets.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the program included a series of meetings, roundtables, and networking events held in Barcelona, Zurich, and Geneva. The focus was on sectors such as financial services, manufacturing, logistics, tourism, fintech, and digital assets. In Barcelona, Bahrain EDB engaged with Spanish investors and business leaders, emphasizing Bahrain's network of trade and economic cooperation agreements and opportunities for companies seeking access to markets across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region and beyond.
In Switzerland, the delegation met with representatives of asset management firms, family offices, and organizations specializing in blockchain and digital assets. The discussions centered around Bahrain's financial services sector, wealth management ecosystem, regulatory framework, and the Kingdom's emerging role as a regional hub for fintech innovation.
Bahrain EDB also collaborated with the Geneva Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services (CCIG) to host meetings with Swiss business leaders, focusing on Bahrain's economic environment and investment prospects. The visit concluded with a meeting with the World Economic Forum to explore opportunities for further cooperation and joint initiatives.
The visit is part of Bahrain EDB's ongoing efforts to strengthen investor engagement, build long-term partnerships, and promote the Kingdom as a destination for international investment.
