HM King Hamad Restructures Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs

Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa issued Order (21) of 2026 regarding the restructuring of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs. The newly appointed council will be chaired by Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa and will include a diverse group of members from various backgrounds.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the appointed members of the council are Shaikh Abdulhussain Khalaf Al Asfoor, who will serve as Vice Chairman, and other members including Shaikh Dr. Abdullatif Mahmood Al Mahmood, Shaikh Dr. Fareed Yaqoob Al Muftah, Shaikh Adnan Abdullah Al Qattan, and Shaikh Nasser Ahmed Khalaf Al Asfoor among others. The council comprises a total of 15 members, each selected to serve a four-year term.

The order stipulates that the new structure of the council will come into effect immediately upon issuance and will be documented in the Official Gazette. The restructuring aims to enhance the council's functionality and ensure its objectives are met efficiently.
