BCCI Chairman Highlights Government Support During Iranian Attacks

Manama: BCCI Chairman Nabeel Khaled Kanoo expressed gratitude towards His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for his support and engagement with the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI). He praised HRH's dedication to fostering supportive conditions for the private sector during the ongoing challenges, which has aided in mitigating the impact on various institutions.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the BCCI Chairman emphasized the importance of government facilitation measures for the private sector amid the Iranian attacks. These measures have played a crucial role in sustaining operations and enabling the national economy to achieve its objectives, aligning with the Kingdom of Bahrain's comprehensive development goals led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the directives of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Kanoo reiterated the Chamber's commitment to collaborating with the government at all levels to fulfill Bahrain's economic and development aspirations. He noted that government support has bolstered the private sector's contribution to sustainable growth and enhanced the competitiveness of the national economy.

He detailed various support and facilitation measures including the postponement of loan repayments, grants and financing provided by the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) to 7,250 Bahraini companies, salary payments for insured Bahrainis in private sector companies, and the deferment of certain government fees. These initiatives have enabled affected businesses to maintain operational continuity, accelerate recovery, and stabilize national workforces.

Kanoo concluded by affirming the Chamber's commitment to further developing cooperation with the public sector, particularly through coordination with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, to strengthen Bahrain's economic and development status and address challenges faced by the private sector.
