Youth Minister Meets UNIDO Regional Office Head to Boost Youth Empowerment

Manama: Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, received Dr. Hashim S. Hussein, Head of the Regional Office of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) for Investment and Technology in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister emphasized the Kingdom's focus on empowering youth and enhancing their capabilities across multiple sectors, recognizing their crucial role in comprehensive development and future planning. She highlighted the ministry's dedication to advancing youth programmes and initiatives and fostering partnerships with both regional and international entities. This collaboration aims to broaden opportunities for Bahraini youth, improve their skill sets, and support their economic and professional growth.

The minister praised the UNIDO Regional Office for its support of small and medium-sized enterprises and its efforts to foster an environment conducive to innovation and entrepreneurship. She stressed the value of leveraging international expertise to develop youth initiatives and programmes.

The meeting explored potential areas of collaboration between the Ministry of Youth Affairs and UNIDO in the fields of youth and entrepreneurship. Discussions included ways to utilize the organisation's expertise to enhance the ministry's Youth Market programme and to cooperate on the upcoming Youth City 2030 edition.

Dr. Hashim S. Hussein expressed his appreciation for the Ministry's initiatives aimed at preparing young national talent for modern development challenges. He reiterated UNIDO's commitment to supporting small and medium-sized enterprises and youth entrepreneurship, and expressed the office's eagerness to strengthen collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs.
