Manama: Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfeeqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, stated that Youth City 2030 embodies the Kingdom of Bahrain's commitment to investing in its youth by providing them with essential skills and opportunities necessary for national development.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister emphasized the support extended to Bahraini youth by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, noting that it embodies a national vision that places young individuals at the heart of development, recognizing them as the Kingdom's most valuable asset and a critical driver for future progress.
She noted that directives from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, have bolstered the youth sector through initiatives that enhance readiness and equip young people with skills necessary for the comprehensive development process and the national economy's needs.
Minister Tawfiqi mentioned that the ongoing growth and success of Youth City 2030 reflect the backing of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, in promoting youth empowerment and fostering an environment encouraging initiative and excellence.
The comments were made during the minister's tour of Youth City 2030, accompanied by various ministers and senior officials. They examined the training programs, specialized workshops, and accompanying activities, and were briefed on the city's initiatives to develop youth skills and foster innovation and entrepreneurship.
Minister Tawfiqi highlighted that Youth City 2030, in its most significant edition since its inception, has become a leading national platform for preparing Bahraini youth through specialized training programs and partnerships with national and international organizations. She mentioned that the initiative blends knowledge with practical experience to prepare qualified national talent capable of adapting to change and creating new opportunities.
Attendees of the tour included Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture; Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications; Yasser bin Ibrahim Humaidan, Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs; Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health; Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Maawda, Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments; Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan, Chief of Police; and Dr. Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, Chief Executive Officer of the General Sports Authority.
During the tour, the ministers and officials visited several training centers in the city, reviewed youth projects, and interacted with participants to understand their experiences and the skills they had gained.
Minister Tawfiqi expressed her gratitude for the visit, noting that it highlighted the integration of government efforts to support young people and the Kingdom's commitment to investing in individuals as the cornerstone of sustainable development.
