Yemen Coalition Accuses Houthis of Misleading Statements Against Saudi Arabia

Riyadh: Major General Turki Al Malki, the Official Spokesperson of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, has stated that the recent Houthi statements against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are an attempt to divert attention from the militia's violations against the Yemeni people, as reported by Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

According to Bahrain News Agency, Major General Al Malki emphasized that these claims are part of a continued hostile escalation by the Houthi militia. He noted that there have been efforts to undermine regional and international security. Saudi Arabia, along with the Coalition and international partners, has pursued various initiatives to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people and address the Yemeni crisis through a roadmap approved by the legitimate Yemeni Government, which has been rejected by the Houthis.

Al Malki further mentioned that the Houthis have consistently rejected efforts aimed at establishing lasting peace. They have also attacked sea lines of communication and international trade routes in the southern Red Sea and the Bab Al Mandab Strait. Such actions have exposed Yemeni ports, Sana'a International Airport, power stations, industrial facilities, and other key economic assets to potential targeting and destruction.

The Coalition has asserted its commitment to respond with determination and force to any attempts to target Saudi Arabia, its citizens, residents, or national assets. It also vows to counter any violations of the sovereignty of the Republic of Yemen, adhering to customary international humanitarian law.
