Rabat: Husain Ahmed Al Shuail, Undersecretary for Civil Aviation Affairs, participated in the 29th General Assembly of the Arab Civil Aviation Organisation (ACAO), held in Rabat. The assembly saw the participation of heads of civil aviation authorities from various Arab countries.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Shuail addressed the assembly, emphasizing the importance of strengthening joint Arab cooperation to ensure the sustainability of the civil aviation sector. He highlighted recent Iranian attacks as threats to airspace, air traffic, and civil aviation infrastructure in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, emphasizing the need to enhance aviation safety and security and keep pace with developments in the sector.
During the assembly, a new president and members of the organisation's Executive Council were elected. Discussions also centered on preparations for the next session of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Council and a high-level air transport conference.
The Executive Council concluded the session with a statement of solidarity with the GCC countries, condemning Iranian aggression and hostile acts targeting the region's security and stability. It stressed the importance of respecting international law, safeguarding civil aviation, and strengthening Arab cooperation to ensure the sustainability and efficiency of the region's air transport system.
