UAE Air Defences Intercept 16 Iranian Ballistic Missiles, 113 Drones

Abu dhabi: The United Arab Emirates air defences have successfully intercepted 16 ballistic missiles and 113 drones amid ongoing Iranian attacks. A total of 17 ballistic missiles were detected, with 16 destroyed and one falling into the sea. Similarly, 117 drones were identified, with 113 intercepted and four falling within the UAE's territory.

According to Bahrain News Agency, since the onset of these attacks, 238 ballistic missiles have been detected. Out of these, 221 were destroyed, 15 fell into the sea, and two landed inside the UAE. Additionally, 1,422 Iranian drones have been detected, with 1,342 intercepted and 80 falling within the country's borders. Furthermore, eight cruise missiles were detected and destroyed.

The attacks have resulted in four casualties, affecting Pakistani, Nepalese, and Bangladeshi nationals. Moreover, 112 individuals sustained injuries ranging from moderate to minor. The injured hail from various countries, including the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Bahrain, the Comoros, and Trkiye.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE has reiterated its readiness to confront any threats, vowing to respond firmly to any attempts to compromise the nation's security. The ministry emphasized its commitment to protecting the UAE's sovereignty, security, and stability, as well as safeguarding its national interests and capabilities.
