Manama: Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Shura Council Chairman, addressed the dangerous developments in the region and the Iranian attacks involving missiles and drones that targeted the Kingdom of Bahrain and several Gulf countries, during the twenty-second session of the council in the fourth session of the sixth legislative term.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Saleh affirmed that the Kingdom, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, is proceeding with its approach based on wisdom, moderation, supporting peace efforts, and enhancing stability. He stressed that the Kingdom would remain strong through its leadership, cohesive through its people, steadfast through its institutions, and capable of overcoming challenges regardless of their magnitude.
The chairman expressed the Shura Council's strong condemnation and deep denunciation of these aggressive acts, emphasizing that they represent a blatant violation of state sovereignty, a serious threat to regional security and stability, and a grave violation of the rules of international law and the principles of good neighborliness.
On behalf of the Shura Council, Al Saleh affirmed standing as one rank behind the leadership of His Majesty the King, and supporting all measures and procedures taken by the Kingdom to protect its national security, safeguard its sovereignty, and maintain the safety of citizens and residents, while noting the Kingdom's legitimate right to respond in accordance with international laws and charters.
He lauded the direct and continuous follow-up provided by His Majesty, reflecting his keenness to enhance national readiness and safeguard the nation's security and stability. He also emphasized the Kingdom's firm approach in adhering to the path of peace, and the steadfast faith and civilised commitment to the values of tolerance and coexistence embodied by the people of Bahrain.
The chairman commended the diligent follow-up and directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Prime Minister, in managing this stage with wisdom and professionalism, enhancing the readiness of state agencies, and ensuring the continuity of basic services. He further valued the order of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister regarding the government's undertaking to address the damages caused to citizens' homes as a result of the Iranian attacks, noting that this care embodies his direct interest in the safety of citizens.
Al Saleh expressed great pride in the success of the Bahrain Defense Force (BDF) in effectively countering the attacks with high efficiency and vigilance. He commended the efforts of the Ministry of Interior and all security agencies in maintaining public order, the responsible role of the media in transmitting accurate information, and the integrated efforts of ministries and institutions in securing vital needs within "Team Bahrain."
The chairman noted that the people of Bahrain have embodied an honorable image of national cohesion and rallying around the leadership of His Majesty the King. He called upon citizens and residents to adhere to instructions issued by competent authorities, ensure accuracy in circulating information, and obtain news from official sources to preserve community security.
He also commended the solidarity of countries with the Kingdom of Bahrain and called upon regional and international parliaments, foremost among them the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), to take a clear position condemning these attacks.
Al Saleh affirmed that the Kingdom, under the leadership of His Majesty the King, remains committed to wisdom, moderation, and the values of dialogue, believing that lasting security is achieved through cooperation and respect for sovereignty.
