Tourism Minister Engages with Hotel Sector to Boost Bahrain’s Tourism Appeal

Manama: Fatima bint Jaffar Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism, convened a meeting with representatives from Bahrain's hotel sector, focusing on fortifying partnerships and evaluating preparations for upcoming tourism seasons and events. Sarah Ahmed Buhejji, CEO of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), was in attendance.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Minister Al Sairafi emphasized that Bahrain's tourism infrastructure, alongside the diverse services and hospitality experiences offered by hotels and resorts, significantly enhances the Kingdom's allure. This diversity aids in attracting more visitors seeking high-quality hospitality and varied accommodation options. The minister highlighted that a range of hotel offerings is crucial in meeting different visitor expectations and supporting Bahrain's reputation as a versatile tourism destination.

Minister Al Sairafi underscored that the variety of hotel options bolsters the competitiveness of Bahrain's tourism sector. This diversity plays a pivotal role in delivering accommodation experiences that cater to visitors with diverse interests. She asserted that collaborating with the hotel sector is essential for tourism growth and achieving the goals of the Tourism Sector Strategy 2022 - 2026. The minister also stressed the significance of continued coordination among stakeholders to provide a comprehensive tourism experience, reinforcing Bahrain's status as a preferred destination.

The meeting covered the latest developments in the tourism sector and strategies to enhance cooperation, thereby improving the visitor experience and positioning Bahrain prominently on the regional and international tourism map. Participants discussed the "Walahna Alaikum" campaign and summer promotional efforts targeting visitors from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, as well as notable events and programs on the tourism calendar.

Additionally, the meeting explored proposals for developing joint tourism packages for the summer season through partnerships between hotels and other stakeholders. These packages aim to integrate accommodation, entertainment, shopping, and varied tourism experiences, further enhancing Bahrain's competitiveness as a favored destination for Gulf families and meeting visitor expectations during the summer.
