Manama: Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education, conducted an inspection visit to centres administering the English language proficiency assessment (APTIS). This is part of the final stage of evaluations for admission to the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) in government schools.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the programme is implemented by the Ministry of Education in partnership with the British Council. The Education Minister engaged with students, parents, and members of the educational and administrative teams responsible for overseeing the assessment process.
A total of 559 students have qualified for this final evaluation stage, which initially involved more than 3,000 students from all intermediate schools across the Kingdom of Bahrain. Following the completion of the assessment process and the announcement of results, the top 400 students among those who qualified for the APTIS assessment will be selected to form the first cohort of students in the IB Middle Years Programme.
