Speaker Launches 2025-2026 Parliamentary Digital Transformation Plan

Manama: Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, has announced the launch of a comprehensive digital transformation and artificial intelligence projects plan for the parliamentary years 2025-2026. The event saw the presence of key figures such as Mohammed Ibrahim Al Sisi Al Buainain, Secretary General of the Council of Representatives; Dr. Yasser Saqr Al-Shirawi, Assistant Secretary General for Resources and Services; Jasim Mohammed Al Gannas, Director of the Information Technology Directorate; and Farooq Abdul Aziz, Head of the Information Systems and AI Applications Division.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Speaker praised the efforts of Al Buainain in modernizing the General Secretariat through the adoption of advanced technologies, highlighting the Secretariat's talent and expertise. He stressed the significance of integrating digital transformation and artificial intelligence into parliamentary operations to boost efficiency and meet strategic goals. This initiative aligns with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and is supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The plan is also consistent with Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The digital transformation plan is designed to enhance various parliamentary functions, including legislative, oversight, service, and informational activities. It leverages Bahrain's advanced digital infrastructure and its leadership role in digital transformation. The strategy outlines four main objectives and 20 key projects, featuring eight AI initiatives and 30 electronic services. Among these are innovative platforms and applications such as the Nuwab platform, a parliamentary adviser, a digital legal advisor, the Nuwab smartphone application, and an audio summary platform (podcast).
