Manama: His Highness Shaikh Hamad bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa have inaugurated the Kingdom of Bahrain's first public skating facility. This marks a significant expansion of the Kingdom's sports infrastructure, aligning with ongoing efforts to provide modern facilities tailored to the aspirations of the youth.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the project was initiated under the directives of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty's Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports. This reflects his dedication to fostering high-quality sporting initiatives, creating environments conducive to youth development, and establishing spaces that nurture and develop talent, thereby strengthening Bahrain's sporting landscape.
The ceremonial opening was graced by the presence of Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, Dr. Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, Chief Executive Officer of the General Sports Authority, and other dignitaries. The facility is notable as Bahrain's first public venue for skating, offering a secure and well-equipped environment for enthusiasts, particularly as skating gains popularity worldwide following its inclusion in the Olympic Games.
