Speaker Highlights Bahrain’s Commitment to Charitable Work on International Day of Charity

Manama: Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, said the vision and approach of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa have made support for charitable work a fundamental component of Bahrain's national policy. Marking the International Day of Charity, the Speaker said Bahrain has fostered a culture of giving and solidarity and developed it into a sustainable institutional framework. He highlighted the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF) as a leading model of organised humanitarian work locally and internationally.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Speaker Al Musallam also highlighted Bahrain's international initiatives, ranging from relief for those affected by crises to supporting education and healthcare in various countries, reflecting the Kingdom's humanitarian role. The Speaker expressed appreciation for the directives and support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in advancing Bahrain's charitable efforts locally, regionally and internationally and linking them to Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 to support sustainable development, empower families and promote social justice.

Speaker Al Musallam commended the efforts of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty's Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the RHF, and the RHF in supporting orphans, widows and families in need. He also highlighted the programmes launched to help alleviate hardship within the Kingdom and abroad.

The Speaker affirmed the Council of Representatives' commitment to advancing charitable work, supporting related legislation and highlighting Bahrain's efforts through parliamentary diplomacy. He noted cooperation with other parliaments and efforts to share Bahrain's experience in charitable and humanitarian work.

Speaker Al Musallam said charitable work is an integral part of Bahrain's national identity and commended the efforts of charitable societies and institutions in the Kingdom and their initiatives, projects and programmes.
