Southern Governorate Initiates First Virtual Workshops of HH Southern Governor’s Security and Social Programme

Manama: The seventh edition of His Highness the Governor's Security and Social Programme commenced with its inaugural virtual workshops, involving 46 students aged 12 to 15. The initiative is backed and overseen by His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Governor of the Southern Governorate.

According to Bahrain News Agency, these workshops are part of an annual summer programme organized by the Southern Governorate, aimed at productively engaging youth during the summer holidays and enhancing their knowledge and skills across various domains.

The programme's first virtual session was an awareness workshop titled "How we protect ourselves from bullying," conducted in collaboration with the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science at the Ministry of the Interior. Specialists from the directorate shared insights on the concept of bullying, its different forms, and its psychological and social impacts. The session also focused on best preventive practices and strategies for young individuals to address bullying, thereby fostering positive behavior and ensuring a safe environment among students.

The Southern Governorate emphasized that this workshop is part of an ongoing partnership and collaboration with security directorates at the Ministry, a crucial factor contributing to the programme's success in previous editions. This collaboration aims to provide meaningful awareness and educational content that strengthens security and community awareness among participants and aligns with the Governorate's goals of preparing a knowledgeable and responsible generation.

The HH Governor's Security and Social Programme continues to achieve success annually through its diverse programmes and workshops, attracting young participants from the Southern Governorate and receiving growing interest from students and parents alike.

The programme encompasses a range of educational, awareness, and recreational topics developed in collaboration with security entities and civil society organizations, showcasing the significance of institutional collaboration in community service and youth capability development.

The Southern Governorate reiterated its commitment to implementing a series of varied virtual workshops and programmes as part of the seventh edition, in partnership with various entities, to bolster security culture, promote national values, and enhance participants' skills throughout the summer holiday.
