Manama: General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, received Lord Tariq Ahmad, former United Kingdom Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa. The meeting was attended by Lieutenant General Tariq bin Hassan Al Hassan, Chief of Police.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah highlighted the security and stability enjoyed by the Kingdom of Bahrain, attributing this to the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He emphasized that the King's leadership has strengthened the nation and enhanced Bahrain's national defense and security capabilities.
Shaikh Rashid noted that these efforts have enabled the Kingdom to consolidate its position and enhance its capabilities to respond to emergencies efficiently and professionally. This, he stated, strengthens Bahrain's ability to protect the nation and maintain stability.
The Interior Minister praised the integrated measures taken by the government under the leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He acknowledged the role of these measures in addressing current challenges through a comprehensive and advanced approach, which is based on enhancing national readiness and coordinating government and national efforts.
Additionally, Shaikh Rashid commended the longstanding relations and strategic partnership between Bahrain and the UK. He emphasized the importance of further developing these relations to serve mutual interests.
The meeting also explored areas of cooperation and coordination aimed at advancing joint work and exchanging expertise in addressing security challenges and enhancing regional stability. They also reviewed recent regional developments.
