Somali Army Claims Success in Airstrikes Against Al Shabaab

Mogadishu: Somalia's Ministry of Defence announced that 27 members of the terrorist group Al Shabaab were killed and dozens injured in a series of airstrikes targeting the group's positions in the Lower Shabelle region.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Somali National Armed Forces, in cooperation with international partners, carried out the airstrikes on July 1 and 2, targeting Al Shabaab positions in the areas of Tawakal, Nun Garre, and Ogunji. The ministry said the operations also destroyed military vehicles, weapons, ammunition, and sites used by the group to plan and carry out terrorist attacks.
