Manama: Osama bin Saleh Al Alawi, Minister of Social Development, conducted an inspection visit to the National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) Home for the Rehabilitation of Disabled Children and the Academic and Professional Rehabilitation Centre, coinciding with the start of the new academic year and the reception of students with disabilities at the ministry's rehabilitation and vocational facilities.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister reviewed the rehabilitation process, the readiness of facilities and classrooms, and the programmes and services provided to students. He affirmed that the ministry continues to develop rehabilitation services for people with disabilities in line with their individual needs and abilities, contributing to the development of their skills, independence, empowerment, and integration into society.
He commended the administrative, educational, rehabilitation, and technical teams at the ministry's facilities for providing a supportive environment for students, stressing the importance of coordination with parents to achieve the best rehabilitation outcomes.
Several ministry officials and specialists also participated from the beginning of the school day in welcoming students and their parents, monitoring the reception process, and ensuring suitable arrangements for the start of the academic year.
On the first day of the academic year, students were received at the NBB Home for Rehabilitation of Disabled Children, Academic and Vocational Rehabilitation Centre, BBK Rehabilitation Centre, Shaikhan Al Farsi Comprehensive Speech Centre, Child Care Day Centre, and Al Matrook Conductive Rehabilitation Centre, following the ministry's preparations to equip the facilities, classrooms, assistive resources, and rehabilitation programmes according to students' needs and abilities.
