Manama: Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, underscored that the discussions held between His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Excellency General Joseph Aoun, President of the Republic of Lebanon, have strengthened the longstanding relations between the two countries.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Saleh commended the outcome of the official meeting, which was also attended by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He noted the keenness of HM the King to advance bilateral cooperation across various sectors.
Al Saleh welcomed the announcement regarding the establishment of a Bahraini diplomatic mission in Beirut, underscoring its significance in enhancing collaboration in the economic, cultural, health, and educational fields.
He reiterated the Kingdom of Bahrain's support for Lebanon's sovereignty, unity, and development, highlighting the joint statement issued during the visit. The statement reflected a shared commitment to promoting regional stability and achieving a solution to the Palestinian cause.
He also noted that HE the Lebanese President's visit marks 53 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries and is expected to contribute to the strengthening of trade, economic, and investment ties.
