Manama: Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, praised the Royal directive of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa designating this year as the "Year of Isa Al Kabeer". This designation is seen as a reflection of His Majesty's commitment to strengthening national awareness of Bahrain's history and honoring the legacy of the founder of the modern state and the leader of the modern institutional history of Bahrain, His Highness Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Ruler of Bahrain and its Dependencies.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Saleh stated that the initiative represents an important national milestone, highlighting Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa's central role in Bahrain's modern renaissance and the establishment of its legal and civil institutions. He emphasized that commemorating his legacy will inspire current and future generations, reinforce national identity, and deepen appreciation of the Kingdom's historical and civilisational heritage.
Al Saleh noted that Bahrain's ongoing development under His Majesty the King builds on the achievements of the founding leaders, underlining the Shura Council's full support for the Royal directive and its commitment to backing the comprehensive reform process.
Al Saleh also commended development projects in the historic city of Muharraq. He praised the government led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for its efforts to preserve national identity while advancing sustainable development.
