New York:President Bassirou Diomaye Faye of Senegal met with Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Bahrain's Minister of Foreign Affairs, at the United Nations Headquarters. This meeting took place on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Bahrain, President Faye extended a warm welcome to the Foreign Minister and requested him to convey his greetings to Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
President Faye praised the robust friendship and cooperation between Senegal and Bahrain, noting the ongoing enhancement of their relationship in various areas of mutual interest. He also acknowledged Bahrain's significant diplomatic contributions as a current member of the UN Security Council and expressed his best wishes for Bahrain's continued success.
Dr. Al Zayani reciprocated by conveying the greetings and well-wishes of Bahrain's King and Crown Prince to President Faye, emphasizing hopes for Senegal's continued development and prosperity.
The discussions during the meeting focused on bilateral relations and increasing coordination to support shared interests between the two nations. They also addressed regional developments and their impact on security and stability at both regional and international levels, alongside other topics of common concern.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including Ambassador Jamal Fares Al Rowaiei, Bahrain's Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York, and Ambassador Saeed Abdulkhaliq Saeed, Chief of Coordination and Follow-up, along with the Foreign Minister's delegation.
