Manama: Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH), together with Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad Hasan, Minister of Health, have reviewed an initiative focused on the early detection of chronic diseases. This initiative was organized by Primary Healthcare Centres (PHC) and took place on August 27 and 28 at Marassi Galleria.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the SCH President stressed the significance of community initiatives that focus on prevention and early detection. He noted that timely screenings are crucial for identifying risk factors and chronic diseases at an early stage, which supports appropriate healthcare intervention.
The Health Minister highlighted the necessity of making preventive healthcare services accessible to the community. She encouraged regular screenings as a means to support early detection and facilitate referral to appropriate health services.
Dr. Ejlal Faisal Al Alawi, Chief Executive Officer of PHC, stated that the initiative aims to promote prevention and early detection while offering appropriate health guidance to participants. The initiative is targeted at citizens and their family members aged 18 and above, providing them with initial health measurements, screenings, and medical consultations. Eligible participants also receive laboratory tests in accordance with the approved guidelines in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
