Manama: Major General Turki Al Malki, spokesperson of the Ministry of Defence of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, stated that Saudi air defences intercepted and destroyed several drones over the past few hours that attempted to target oil facilities in the Eastern Region and Riyadh. Major General Al Malki confirmed that the terrorist attempts originated from Iraqi territory and were carried out by Iranian-backed terrorist militias, affirming Saudi Arabia's inherent right to defend itself and its national assets.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Major General Al Malki emphasised Saudi Arabia's sovereign right to respond at the appropriate time and place. The statement underscores the ongoing tensions in the region and the Kingdom's determination to protect its infrastructure and citizens from external threats. The Ministry of Defence has reiterated its commitment to maintaining national security and ensuring the stability of vital oil installations.
