Manama: Under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, The Royal Golf Club is preparing to host the golf competitions as part of the 2025 Asian Youth Games. The golf competitions will be held at the Royal Golf Club course from October 22 - 25.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the golf events will begin on Wednesday, October 22, with the official practice round, followed by the official tournament rounds from October 23 - 25, featuring wide participation from across the Asian continent.
A total of 25 Asian countries will be taking part in the championship, represented by 17 boys' teams and 10 girls' teams, with a total of 85 male and female players. Among them are three Bahraini players who will represent the Kingdom in the boys' category, reflecting the development of golf in Bahrain and its growing presence on both the regional and continental levels.
This hosting marks a new national achievement in the journey of the Royal Golf Club and Bahraini sport, as the championship will welcome some of the most talented young golfers from various Asian countries. It further strengthens Bahrain's status as a leading sports destination in the region and a prominent hub for hosting international sporting events.
Waleed Abdulhameed Al Alawi, Chairman of the Royal Golf Club, expressed his pride in the club being selected as the official venue for the golf competitions of the Asian Youth Games. He emphasised that this choice reflects the high level of trust in the club's advanced infrastructure and its professional standards in organising major tournaments.
Al Alawi added that the club's courses and facilities have been prepared according to the highest international technical standards, ensuring an exceptional experience for athletes and participants in a manner befitting Bahrain's reputation and outstanding organisational capabilities. He noted that this event is a valuable opportunity to highlight the progress of golf in the Kingdom and reflects the strong support that the sports sector receives in Bahrain.
He also noted that hosting the golf competitions within the Asian Youth Games represents a historic moment for Bahraini sport, embodying the Kingdom's vision of empowering youth and supporting sport as a pillar of national development. He highlighted that the Royal Golf Club will exert every effort to ensure the success of this major continental event, in cooperation with the organising committee and relevant authorities.
