Manama: His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the Deputy Prime Minister, chaired the weekly Cabinet Meeting held at Gudaibiya Palace. The Cabinet extended congratulations on the successful conclusion of the Sharm El Sheikh Peace Summit, which resulted in an agreement to end the war in the Gaza Strip.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Summit was attended by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and hosted by the Arab Republic of Egypt. It was co-chaired by His Excellency Abdel Fattah El Sisi, President of Egypt, and His Excellency Donald Trump, President of the United States, with participation from leaders of over twenty countries. The Cabinet emphasized that the agreement marks a historic milestone for peace and regional security, highlighting the collaborative efforts of regional and international entities in fostering long-term peace.
The Cabinet also welcomed the Kingdom of Bahrain's hosting of the 3rd Asian Youth Games starting on October 22, under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The support of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa was acknowledged for ensuring the event's success, along with commendations for various ministries and government entities involved in preparations.
Gratitude was expressed to the private sector for its contributions in line with directives from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, aimed at providing job opportunities for Bahraini job seekers by 2025. The Ministry of Labour and the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry were praised for their roles in facilitating employment initiatives.
The Cabinet recognized community involvement in National Tree Week, reflecting the Kingdom's commitment to environmental preservation. It reviewed a memorandum from the Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture concerning this initiative.
In marking United Nations Day, the Cabinet extended congratulations to the United Nations and reaffirmed the importance of its principles. Several memorandums were reviewed and approved, including those related to electric vehicle recharging regulation, bilateral cooperation agreements, and urban development projects.
The Cabinet also reviewed reports on building permit statistics and outcomes from recent international participations, including sessions of the United Nations General Assembly and the World Health Organisation's Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean.
