Istanbul: Brigadier Dr. Shaikh Fahad bin Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Commander of the Royal Medical Services (RMS) and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Treatment Abroad, visited Medipol University Hospital in the Republic of Turkiye as part of his official visit to the country. Brigadier Dr. Shaikh Fahad bin Khalifa was briefed on the latest services, technologies, and specialised practices in prosthetics design and manufacturing, rehabilitation techniques, and advanced healthcare services.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Brigadier Dr. Shaikh Fahad bin Khalifa engaged in discussions about opportunities for cooperation and exchange of expertise to support the development of rehabilitation and specialised care services within the RMS. His visit aimed to strengthen ties and enhance the capabilities of the RMS in delivering advanced medical care.
In addition to the hospital visit, Brigadier Dr. Shaikh Fahad bin Khalifa also visited a specialised company, where he was briefed on projects related to mobile medical clinics, field ambulance services, and solutions supporting field healthcare operations. This was part of efforts to strengthen medical readiness and enhance emergency, disaster, and field response capabilities.
During the visit, Brigadier Dr. Shaikh Fahad bin Khalifa explored the operational capabilities and modern medical equipment of mobile clinics and field ambulance units, focusing on their role in supporting mobile healthcare services, rapid response, patient transport, and field medical services. The discussions included operational aspects and mechanisms for integration with approved emergency and response plans to enhance medical readiness and field healthcare services within the RMS.
The visit underscores RMS's commitment to enhancing cooperation with medical and academic institutions and specialised companies to support the development of healthcare and specialised services in line with international best practices.
