RCSI’s 17th Annual Conferring Ceremony Celebrates Medical and Nursing Graduates

Manama: Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) - Medical University of Bahrain held its 17th Annual Conferring Ceremony. The event was attended by distinguished guests, including Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health, and Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Higher Education Council.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Juma emphasized the ongoing development of the higher education sector in Bahrain, supported by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He extended congratulations to the graduates and their families, praising the university for its role in preparing medical professionals to meet the Kingdom's healthcare needs.

Professor Michael Kerin, President of RCSI Dublin, expressed gratitude to His Royal Highness for patronizing the ceremony and congratulated the Class of 2026. Professor Sameer Otoom, President of RCSI Medical University of Bahrain, reaffirmed the university's commitment to preparing healthcare professionals for both domestic and international service.

The ceremony honored the achievements of 168 medical graduates and 117 graduates from nursing programs, highlighting RCSI's dedication to enhancing Bahrain's healthcare sector. Graduates recited their professional oath, committing to ethical standards and lifelong learning.

Dr Aiman Khudair, the School of Medicine Valedictorian, and Nurse Noora Al Rowaiei, representing the nursing cohort, delivered addresses reflecting on their journey and the support received from faculty and peers.

The event also recognized academic excellence, with Dr Aiman Khudair receiving the Medicine Overall Gold Medal and other students awarded for their achievements in various disciplines. RCSI Medical University of Bahrain has conferred degrees on over 3,600 graduates across 38 countries, underscoring its mission to advance global healthcare.
