Manama: Radio Bahrain Company (RBC), a portfolio company of Mumtalakat, has partnered with Youth City 2030, an initiative of the Ministry of Youth Affairs (MYA) supported by its strategic partner, the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), to launch "Win The Mic", a nationwide talent search to discover, develop and promote the Kingdom's next generation of English-speaking radio presenters.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the initiative is open to eligible Bahraini nationals across the Kingdom and is not limited to Youth City 2030 participants. It offers aspiring broadcasters the opportunity to showcase their talent and gain first-hand experience in a professional radio environment. Applicants are required to submit a short introductory video through the Ministry of Youth Affairs' eShabab mobile app before progressing through a series of assessment stages. These stages include shortlisting, live auditions, presenter challenges, and a grand finale judged by Radio Bahrain professionals.
Three finalists will undergo an intensive three-month Radio Bahrain bootcamp that covers various aspects of radio presenting, including voice and delivery, interviewing, storytelling, content creation, visual radio delivery, broadcast production, and on-ground activations. After completing the programme, one participant will be awarded a 12-month internship with RBC, with opportunities for further mentoring and potential on-air experience.
This initiative reflects RBC's commitment to investing in Bahraini talent and creating a sustainable pipeline of future media professionals for the Kingdom. It also reinforces Youth City 2030's role in connecting young Bahrainis with industry opportunities and practical career development.
Radio Bahrain's on-air and digital platforms, along with the Ministry of Youth Affairs' eShabab mobile app and Youth City 2030 channels, will announce registration details, eligibility criteria, and application deadlines.
