Doha: His Highness Shaikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, held talks with Ahmed Al Sharaa, President of the Syrian Arab Republic, focusing on regional and international developments.
According to Bahrain News Agency, HH the Amir expressed hope that the visit would strengthen cooperation and expand ties between the two countries across various sectors. President Al Sharaa expressed appreciation for the reception and hospitality, reiterating Syria's commitment to enhancing bilateral relations in a way that serves shared interests.
The Syrian president also expressed solidarity with the State of Qatar following Iranian attacks targeting the country and other states in the region, voicing support for measures undertaken to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and citizens. HH the Amir expressed appreciation for Syria's stance, commending the continued cooperation between the two sides.
The two leaders underlined their commitment to supporting regional security and stability and discussed means to further develop bilateral relations. They also held a bilateral session to address issues of common interest, followed by an official luncheon in honour of the visiting delegation.
