Manama: General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, received retired Air Marshal Martin Sampson, Executive Director of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) Middle East, in the presence of Major-General Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Deputy Chief of Public Security. The Interior Minister welcomed Sampson, highlighting the importance of such meetings in enhancing communication and exchanging views.
According to Bahrain News Agency, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa emphasised that the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa continues to guide the Kingdom of Bahrain towards security and stability. He commended the measures undertaken by the government led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in addressing the repercussions of Iranian attacks.
The Interior Minister expressed appreciation for the role of research institutions in supporting decision-making through specialised studies, noting the contribution of the International Institute for Strategic Studies in promoting global peace and organising international forums, including the Manama Dialogue.
The meeting also reviewed challenges related to police performance and discussed means to enhance cooperation, coordination, and the exchange of expertise, as well as regional and international developments.
