Manama: Counsellor Abdulla Isa Al Doseri, Acting Head of the International Cooperation and Human Rights Office, chaired the 19th meeting of officials responsible for implementing joint cooperation rules among public prosecutions and public prosecution offices in Gulf Cooperation Council countries. The meeting was held via videoconference.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting discussed several items on its agenda, including the completion of the review of the unified international cooperation forms previously considered by the committee at its 18th meeting. The discussions also included views and proposals on developing the information and procedures contained in the forms in light of practical experience. This development aims to meet the requirements of judicial cooperation requests, facilitate their implementation, reduce the need for additional information and data, and enhance the speed and effectiveness of cooperation between the Public Prosecutions and Public Prosecutors of GCC states.
Al Doseri emphasised the importance of continuing to develop judicial cooperation tools and mechanisms between the Public Prosecutions and Public Prosecutors of GCC states. He highlighted the need to draw on practical experience to update the forms and procedures governing this cooperation. This initiative would ensure faster and more efficient processing of requests, strengthen coordination and cooperation between the Public Prosecutions and Public Prosecutors of GCC states, and keep pace with legal developments, contributing to more efficient and effective judicial cooperation between them.
