National Committee to Combat Trafficking in Persons Discusses Framework Enhancements


Manama: Nibras Talib, Chief Executive of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), chaired the regular meeting of the National Committee to Combat Trafficking in Persons (NCCTIPs), held remotely. Talib underscored the continuation of efforts to implement projects and initiatives supporting the anti-trafficking framework through ongoing coordination with relevant entities and partnership with the private sector. He noted that maintaining the achievements attained by the Kingdom in combating trafficking in people requires sustained and growing efforts that build on progress made and keeps pace with developments in detection and response mechanisms, through further development of the national framework and enhanced cooperation and coordination with the international community to exchange experiences and align efforts.



According to Bahrain News Agency, the committee reviewed government efforts to further develop the anti-trafficking framework and maintain the Kingdom’s leading position in this field. It also discussed key initiatives and practical steps to strengthen the system, including the Wage Protection System, stepping up investigations and convictions in trafficking cases, and expanding the exchange of expertise.
