Manama: The Mosques and Religious Facilities Directorate at the Islamic Endowments Council has successfully completed a training programme designed for newly appointed imams and muezzins. This initiative aims to prepare them for their roles in Bahrain's mosques, enhancing both their religious duties and community responsibilities.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the programme engaged 37 participants in a comprehensive 33-hour training session. The curriculum covered various aspects essential for mosque work, including religious knowledge, practical skills, and professional performance standards. The training emphasized key components such as the responsibilities of imams and muezzins, recitation and voice techniques, Quranic reading skills, and mosque administration. These elements were strategically chosen to equip the participants with the necessary competencies to effectively serve worshippers.
The training sessions were conducted at the Ahmed Al Fateh Islamic Centre. Abdullah Rashid Al Muaili, Director of the Mosques and Religious Facilities Directorate, highlighted that this programme is part of the directorate's continuous efforts to prepare new mosque personnel. It combines religious and professional development to ensure the readiness of the imams and muezzins. Al Muaili also emphasized the directorate's commitment to regularly updating and expanding its training initiatives to meet operational needs and enhance the capabilities of mosque personnel.
At the conclusion of the programme, the directorate expressed appreciation for the participants' dedication and active engagement throughout the training sessions.
