Education Minister Congratulates Parents of First International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme Graduating Cohort

Manama: Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education, congratulated the parents of the first cohort of students in the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP), expressing pride in the students' strong competitive results and their performance across all stages of assessment. He also commended the role of parents in supporting and encouraging their children throughout the programme.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Juma stated that the announcement of the first cohort is a major educational achievement and an important milestone in the development of education in Bahrain. The Education Minister highlighted that the assessment process for entry into the International Baccalaureate programme was challenging and required a high academic standard. This was to ensure that the first cohort is able to progress successfully into the next stage of study, which will begin from Grade 8 in the next academic year and will differ in scope and structure from the traditional pathway.

The Minister also praised all students who participated in the assessment process from the beginning, numbering more than 3,000 students from all public intermediate schools in Bahrain. He expressed gratitude towards the parents for their support, which contributed to the successful launch of this leading international education programme.

Dr. Juma is scheduled to meet the parents of the first cohort of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme on June 21 at the Ministry of Education hall in Isa Town.
