LMRA Conducts Over 1,500 Inspection Campaigns in Bahrain


Manama: The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) carried out 1,549 inspection campaigns and visits between January 25 and 31, 2026. These efforts resulted in the arrest of 17 violating and irregular workers, while 146 violators were deported during the same period.



According to Bahrain News Agency, the inspection campaigns and visits also led to the detection of several violations related to regulating laws, particularly the Labour Market Regulatory Authority Law and the Residency Law in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Legal measures were taken against the recorded violations.



The LMRA detailed that 1,513 inspection visits were conducted at various commercial establishments across all governorates, in addition to 36 joint inspection campaigns. These included 14 campaigns in the Capital Governorate, 11 in the Muharraq Governorate, six in the Northern Governorate, and five in the Southern Governorate. The campaigns were conducted with the participation of multiple agencies, including the Ministry of Interior, Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs, security directorates in the governorates, the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science, and the General Directorate of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing, alongside the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Social Insurance Organisation, and the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority.



The Authority emphasized ongoing joint coordination with government entities to intensify inspection campaigns across all governorates of the Kingdom of Bahrain. This aims to address any violations or practices that could negatively impact the labour market, its stability and competitiveness, or harm the Kingdom’s economic and social security.
