Manama:His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has received an invitation from King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to attend the second GCC-EU Summit, scheduled to be held in Saudi Arabia in October.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the invitation was delivered to King Hamad by Naif bin Bandar Al Sudairi, the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Bahrain.
King Hamad expressed gratitude to King Salman for the invitation and praised the strong and historic ties between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. He emphasized the importance of continued support and development of these relations for the benefit of both nations' peoples.
Additionally, King Hamad acknowledged the efforts of King Salman in enhancing Bahrain-Saudi relations and Saudi Arabia's role in promoting joint Gulf cooperation.
He also extended his hopes for the success of the GCC-EU Summit in fostering the partnership and cooperation between the Gulf Cooperation Council states and European Union countries, aiming to advance their shared interests.
