Interior Minister and IISS Executive Director Explore Enhanced Cooperation

Manama: General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, received Retired Air Vice-Marshal Martin Sampson, Executive Director of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) - Middle East. The meeting was attended by Major General Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Deputy Chief of Public Security.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Minister of Interior expressed appreciation for the role of research centres in presenting studies that contribute to developing security approaches and formulating policing policies to address security challenges and changes proactively. He commended the efforts of the IISS in promoting global peace and organising strategic forums and international conferences, particularly the "Manama Dialogue", an annual platform for exchanging views on issues related to security and stability.

The Minister highlighted the institute's specialised studies and their scientific contributions that serve decision-making circles, emphasising the importance of enhancing cooperation to achieve mutual goals and interests. The meeting also explored means to enhance cooperation, coordination, joint work, and exchange of expertise between the two sides.
