CBB Ijara Murabaha Sukuk Attracts Strong Investor Interest with 152% Oversubscription

Manama: The Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) has announced that the latest issuance of its short-term Islamic Ijara Murabaha Sukuk has been oversubscribed by 152%. The issue, which was valued at BD 50 million, received subscriptions totaling BD 76.016 million. This indicates strong investor demand for the sukuk, which carries a maturity period of 182 days.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the expected return on this sukuk issue stands at 5.20%. This rate is consistent with that of the previous sukuk issue dated October 2. The issuance commenced on October 30 and is set to mature on April 30, 2026. The sukuk is part of the CBB's efforts to facilitate Islamic financing, with the bank acting on behalf of the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

This issuance, labeled as 6IM/3 (BH0005063357), is part of the ongoing short-term Ijara Murabaha Sukuk series, reflecting the CBB's commitment to providing Sharia-compliant investment opportunities.
