HRH Crown Prince Chairs Cabinet Meeting Addressing Regional Peace and Legislative Developments

Gudaibiya: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the weekly Cabinet Meeting at Gudaibiya Palace, focusing on key regional and domestic issues.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Cabinet extended congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for the upcoming Hijri New Year, 1448 AH, wishing continued progress for Bahrain and the Arab and Islamic nations. The Cabinet discussed a recent telephone call between His Majesty King Hamad and U.S. President Donald Trump, which reviewed the memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran. The Cabinet welcomed this MoU as a step towards regional stability and peace.

The Cabinet expressed appreciation for the diplomatic efforts by the U.S. President and acknowledged the mediation role played by Pakistan, with support from Saudi Arabia and Qatar. It highlighted the importance of a lasting regional peace agreement to enhance economic sustainability and security.

In domestic matters, the Cabinet expressed gratitude to Bahrain's Defence Force, National Guard, and other security agencies for their vigilance in maintaining national stability. The Cabinet emphasized the need for continued military cooperation among Gulf Cooperation Council members.

The Cabinet commended the Gulf Cooperation Council's Ministerial Council statement and reviewed preparations for the Ashura season, ensuring all necessary arrangements are in place.

The Cabinet approved several legislative items, including a draft law on groundwater use, the Mangrove Alliance for Climate Charter, and an agreement with India on customs cooperation. It also reviewed progress on healthcare priorities under the Government Programme (2023-2026) and cooperation between the Executive and Legislative Branches.

Additionally, the Cabinet was briefed on Bahrain's participation in various international events and upcoming summer events for 2026.
