HM King Deputises HH Shaikh Nasser Bin Hamad for King’s Football Cup Final

Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa deputised His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty's Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, to attend the final match of His Majesty the King's Football Cup for the 2025/2026 sporting season. His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, also attended, alongside a number of senior officials.

According to Bahrain News Agency, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad crowned Muharraq Club champions of His Majesty the King's Football Cup following their victory over Riffa Club in the final, which drew a large crowd. His Highness expressed pride in attending on behalf of His Majesty the King, highlighting that the Cup is one of the most significant national sporting events, receiving direct support from His Majesty. This support, he noted, reflects His Majesty's commitment to enhancing the status of sport in the Kingdom of Bahrain and raising its standards to achieve further accomplishments.

His Highness remarked that the final demonstrated the advanced level Bahraini football has achieved in terms of technical performance, attendance, and organisation, commending the players' performance. He congratulated the Board of Directors of Muharraq Club, chaired by Shaikh Ahmed bin Ali Al Khalifa, and praised the team's performance throughout the competition, as well as the level of Riffa Club, which reflects the progress of Bahraini football.

His Highness also expressed appreciation to the Bahrain Football Association for organising the competition, noting that the Cup's success reflects joint efforts and institutional work, contributing to enhancing the international standing of Bahraini sport.
