Manama: Bahraini mixed martial artist Hamza Kooheji is set to compete for the BRAVE Combat Federation (BRAVE CF) Bantamweight World Championship on Friday, November 7, at BRAVE 100. The event will be held at Khalifa Sports City in Isa Town and marks the organisation's 100th global event.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Kooheji will face Serbia's Borislav Nikolic in the main event of the evening. A long-time representative of Bahrain in the sport, Kooheji has been part of BRAVE CF since its establishment in 2016. He currently holds a record of nine wins from 11 appearances within the promotion and is ranked No. 2 in the bantamweight division.
This will be Kooheji's second attempt at the world title, having previously competed for the championship in 2022. He returns to the title picture following continued activity and performance within the division.
BRAVE CF President Mohammed Shahid described Kooheji as one of the most underrated fighters in the organisation's history, noting his rise without prior experience in amateur or traditional combat sports backgrounds.
Beyond his individual accomplishments, Kooheji is widely regarded as a central figure in the development of mixed martial arts in Bahrain and the wider Arab region.
BRAVE 100 is expected to draw significant attention, not only for its milestone status but also for the potential impact of Kooheji's bout on the national sporting landscape.
